Description

Had this finished a long time ago, but just got around to posting it now.
No idea how to blazon this, so I’m just going to describe the various parts and their symbolism instead:

1st Quarter: This quarter of the lozenge depicts the arms of Lycoris’ father, Petrosius, which shows her status as an unmarried woman still under her father’s protection. It consists of a black (Symbolizing constancy, prudence, and grief) wolf’s head (Symbolizing greed, strength, sovereignty, intelligence, tenacity, swiftness, perseverance, courage, danger, death) couped (decapitated) with guttees (drops) of blood on a tawny (Orange-brown, symbolizing worthy ambition) ground. An arm embowed (bent) in armour (Symbolizing an industrious person with qualities of leadership) and holding a sword (Symbolizing justice and military honour) appears out of a cloud (Symbolizing mystery and obscured truth) to cut off the head of the wolf, but, as in Petrosius’ personal motto, “Though Ye Slaye Me, I’ll Yet Bite”, the wolf keeps its hold long after death.

2nd Quarter: This quarter of the lozenge depicts Lycoris’ outward character, and consists of a stag (Symbolizing solitude, determinatiom, compassion, peace and harmony, one who doesn’t wish to fight) courant (Running; symbolizing swiftness, strength and enthusiasm) with a bleeding heart (Symbolizing charity and sincerity) on a green (Symbolizing hope, joy and loyalty in love) meadow with a blue (Symbolizing truth and loyalty) sky and a golden (Symbolizing nobility, generosity, intelligence, prestige, virtue, and grandeur) mullet (star) of six points (Symbolizing virtue, piety, chivalry, warrior spirit, honor, light and obedience).

3rd Quarter: This quarter represents Lycoris’ inward character, and consists of a martlet (A bird with no feet which is unable to land anywhere and must keep flying forever, symbolizing hope & rebirth, fidelity, diligence, peacefulness, maternal care and domestic contentment) gorged (Collared and chained, symbolizing high dignity and a bond of loyalty) with two Mohnheim Mountain Poppies (Lycoris’ favourite flower, symbolizing sacrifice, rememberance, hope, joy, death and sleep. Lycoris was named after another red flower symbolizing death and sleep, the Red Spider-Lily, Lycoris Radiata).
4th Quarter:This quarter represents Lycoris’ place of birth and habitation, the arms of Belskoye in the Owlwood Region of Izberia. It consists of two Bees (Symbolizing well-governed industry, resurrection, steadfastness and obedience) and a Beehive (Symbolizing one of the primary industries of the region) on a red (Symbolizing courage, patience, fortitude, sacrifice and piety) and green field divided forested (Resembling a line of trees, leaves or branches) with two snowflakes (Representing the predominance of the winter season in the Region).
Her Motto, “Semper Fidelis” (“Always Faithful”) is written on a bleu celeste (Sky blue) ribbon.
